Services this Week

On Sunday, 17 May, we celebrate the Ascension. This feast commemorates the taking by Our Lord of his human body into heaven, completely what we call the great exchange – by taking our humanity and accepting it, and giving in return his divinity, our entrance into eternal life. There are two masses on Sunday: the 8 am mass, which is a simple said mass taking around 40 minutes; and the 10 am Solemn Sung Mass starting with a procession. It will take about an hour. There is a sermon at both masses.

There is mass every day except Monday.

Parish Lunch – 14 May

Our next parish lunch will be for Ascension 14 May at the Goodwood Park Hotel.

Benediction and Reflection – 3 June

Our next benediction and meditation will be on 3 June at 5.30 pm with pizza and wine in the gardens to follow.

Gardening Day

We have a parish gardening group that meets every Tuesday after the 10 am mass.

The Lodge Service – 20 May

Once a month we hold an Anglican service in the local nursing home, The Lodge, at Wayville. The next service will be on Wednesday, 20 May, at 2 pm.

Benedictine Oblates – 21 May, 2026

Our next meeting of our Benedictine oblates will be Thursday 21 May at St George’s, staring with mass at 12 noon.

Monthly Requiem – 8 May

On the first free Friday of the month we have a special requiem mass at 8 am to commemorate all those past members of our parish now in God’s care who died in that month as well as those who have died recently. We always invite people to add names to the list of those for whom they are mourning or in particular need of prayers now they have died. The next monthly requiem is on Friday, 8 May at 8.00 am.

Parish Council – 10 May

Our next meeting is Sunday, 10 May, after the 10 am mass.

Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham – 1 August

Every month, usually on the first Saturday, we have a special mass in devotion to Our Lady. Our parish has a special devotion ot Our Lady of Walsingham, the famous pilgrimage site in England, and has a wonderful statue of Mary in her role there. The Cell meets next on Saturday 1 August, 2026, at 9 am for mass, followed by a shared breakfast.

Education Association – 2 August

Our next meeting will be on Sunday 2 August after the 10 am mass.
