Services this Week

This Sunday, 2 April, we will celebrate the sixth Sunday of Lent, the season of fasting, penitence and prayer. This Sunday is Palm Sunday, and church is veiled in purple as it is Passiontide, the final section of Lent. The crosses are veiled because Christ during this time no longer walked openly among the people but hid himself. The images of the saints also are covered because it would seem improper for the servants to appear when the Master himself is hidden. There are two masses on Sunday: the 8 am mass, which is just a simple said mass taking around 40 minutes; and the 10 am mass, which is a solemn sung mass starting outside with the blessing of palms and will take just over an hour.
