Services this Week
On Sunday, 12 July, we celebrate Catholic Renewal Sunday. There are two masses on Sunday: the 8 am mass, which is a simple said mass taking around 40 minutes; and the 10 am Solemn Sung Mass starting with the sprinkling a procession. It will take about an hour. There is a sermon at both masses. We have a guest preacher this Sunday, Fr Andrew Eaton, the Archdeacon of the Hunter, Newcastle Diocese. there is a lunch to follow.
There is mass every day except Monday.
Benediction and Reflection – 5 August
Our next benediction and meditation will be on 5 August at 5.00 pm with pizza and wine in the rectory to follow. Note the change of time.
Gardening Day
We have a parish gardening group that meets every Tuesday after the 10 am mass.
Catholic Renewal Sunday – 12 July
We have a special mass on Sunday, 12 July for the commemoration of the revival of the Catholic movement in the church in 1833. Our guest preacher is Archdeacon Andrew Eaton of Newcastle Diocese. Soup and sandwiches to follow.
The Lodge Service – 15 July
Once a month we hold an Anglican service in the local nursing home, The Lodge, at Wayville. The next service will be on Wednesday, 15 July, at 2 pm.
Benedictine Oblates – 11 July, 2026
Our next meeting of our Benedictine oblates will be Saturday 11 July, St Benedict’s Day at St George’s, staring with mass at 11 am. This will be the opportunity to renew oblation vows. This will be followed by a shared lunch, all visitors welcome.
Monthly Requiem – 7 August
On the first free Friday of the month we have a special requiem mass at 8 am to commemorate all those past members of our parish now in God’s care who died in that month as well as those who have died recently. We always invite people to add names to the list of those for whom they are mourning or in particular need of prayers now they have died. The next monthly requiem is on Friday, 7 August at 8.00 am.
Parish Council – 9 August
Our next meeting is Sunday, 9 August, after the 10 am mass.
Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham – 1 August
Every month, usually on the first Saturday, we have a special mass in devotion to Our Lady. Our parish has a special devotion ot Our Lady of Walsingham, the famous pilgrimage site in England, and has a wonderful statue of Mary in her role there. The Cell meets next on Saturday 1 August, 2026, at 9 am for mass, followed by a shared breakfast.
Education Association – 2 August
Our next meeting will be on Sunday 2 August after the 10 am mass.
