Services this Week
On Sunday, 1 November, we celebrate the Feast of All Saints. There are two masses on Sunday: the 8 am mass, which is a simple said mass taking around 40 minutes; and the 10 am Solemn Sung Mass starting with a procession. It will take about an hour. There is a sermon at both masses. There is a cup of tea in the hall after the 10 am mass.
There is mass every day except Monday.
All Souls – 2 November
Monday, 2 November is the great feast of All Souls. On this day we pray for all the faithful departed, remembering that we still hold them in our love, and we trust that in God’s presence those who have chosen to serve Our Lord will will grow in his love, until they see him as he is. There will be a mass at 10 am that day. Our prayers support the faithful departed in their journey towards the fullness of God’s glory. At the Commendation (Absolution), the names of the faithful departed are represented on the catafalque. Note that all who died in the last twelve months should already be on the list – check before adding them again. The usual monthly requiem for all whose anniversaries fall in November will be on Friday 6 November. On 13 November we will have a special requiem for all those who have died unquiet deaths – this includes anyone you feel died in difficult circumstances. The lists for names are at the back of the church.
Benediction and Reflection – 4 November
Our next benediction and meditation will be on 4 November at 5.00 pm with pizza and wine in the rectory to follow.
Gardening Day
We have a parish gardening group that meets every Tuesday after the 10 am mass.
The Lodge Service – 18 November
Once a month we hold an Anglican service in the local nursing home, The Lodge, at Wayville. The next service will be on Wednesday, 18 November, at 2 pm.
Benedictine Oblates – 19 November, 2026
Our next meeting of our Benedictine oblates will be Thursday 19 November at 12 noon at St George’s with mass followed by the midday office, sext. We will then go to lunch at the Goodwood Park Hotel. This will be our latest meeting for 2026.
Monthly Requiem – 6 November
On the first free Friday of the month we have a special requiem mass at 8 am to commemorate all those past members of our parish now in God’s care who died in that month as well as those who have died recently. We always invite people to add names to the list of those for whom they are mourning or in particular need of prayers now they have died. The next monthly requiem is on Friday, 6 November at 8.00 am.

Votive Mass of Our Lady – 7 November
Every month, usually on the first Saturday, we have a special mass in devotion to Our Lady. The next mass is Saturday 7 November, at 9 am with the Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham.
Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham – 7 November
Our parish has a special devotion ot Our Lady of Walsingham, the famous pilgrimage site in England, and has a wonderful statue of Mary in her role there. The Cell meets next on Saturday 7 November, 2026, at 9 am for mass, followed by a shared breakfast.
Education Association – 1 November
Our next meeting will be on Sunday 2 August after the 10 am mass.
